Hi! We’re Chris & Christi Janssen
We began our farming venture in 2009 after we each had a career working with students and children. We are still sweethearts after 35 years and have raised three amazing children. We are young at heart and enjoy being outdoors interacting with God’s creation! We love the feel of dirt in our hands, working hard and watching our crops grow. It is our desire to share the goodness of God even through the struggles of life.
Our Story
C & C Farms was established in January 2009 with the purpose of producing fresh produce year round utilizing high tunnels. We are unique because we grow our produce inside the city limits of Scandia on vacant city lots we purchased. We market our produce in multiple ways. We sell wholesale to other small retailers, at 3-4 Farmers Markets weekly during the summer and one Farmers Market year round. We have a small retail store in Scandia, and deliver your CSA directly to you with a smile. Our first summer deliveries began in 2014 with 20 members and has continued to increase in popularity with a goal of 120 members for 2024. We have adapted & grown our farm since our first crop in 2009. We love to try new items and you will find us growing heirloom varieties and produce no one else in Kansas is growing. Farming is our ministry and we aim to show God’s love to our communitry by working the land and sharing the bounty with you! We want to be a blessing to you and your family by providing you the freshest produce possible. So fresh it might even have a little dirt on it!
